Keep client work moving without losing control of what was agreed.

Every engagement already passes through five moments: the agreement, a change, the evidence, a decision, and the handoff to finance. Worql keeps them connected, so the context from one carries into the next. This page follows one engagement through all five. Example engagement. Northstar Labs and Keelstone Logistics are made up.

Baseline

Know what governs the work.

You start with the signed SoW. Worql turns it into the baseline: the scope, the acceptance criteria, and who on each side can approve a change. Import the document you already have or assemble one in Worql; either way the executed version is the one that governs, and it’s protected differently from a draft.

When an amendment is executed, Worql records a new version. The earlier one stays in the record, so “which version were we working to in July?” has one answer.

Change

See when the work moves away from what was agreed.

When an ask comes in, your team logs it against the baseline with a link to the Slack message or the ticket. Small asks inside the agreed scope just get noted. Anything that changes scope, timeline or price goes to the person on the client side who can approve it, so it can be decided before your team builds it.

A request isn’t a change order, and an engineer’s yes isn’t an approval. Worql keeps each one tied to the agreement and attributed to the person who said it, so the right people can decide what treatment it deserves.

Daniel Okafor Can we filter available drivers by active certification before assignment?

Ravi Menon Yes, we can do that.

RV-031Informal yesNeeds a decision

Conflicts with SoW v2 §5.2. Nobody with sign-off has said yes. Routed to Rohan Deshmukh. Treatment chosen Jul 19: propose a paid change, CR-014, which became Amendment 2, USD 4,800.

Evidence

Establish what happened.

Delivery evidence from connected sources is attached to the agreed work: the PR, the demo recording, the UAT sign-off. Each piece shows where it came from and when. Evidence informs a decision. It doesn’t become the decision.

Coverage is part of every finding. If Worql can’t find an approval, it says so and shows you where it looked. Email and calls that aren’t connected can’t be searched, and Worql won’t claim otherwise.

Decision

The right person decides.

Commitments, acceptances and amendments are made by people with the authority to make them, and each decision is recorded with the context behind it. Someone with authority decides: price it as a change, absorb it, exchange scope, defer it, mark it already in scope, or decline it.

Your client’s approver accepts a milestone against the criteria both sides agreed, or sends it back with a note. They sign in with an account, but don’t need a subscription of their own. Signing, approving and accepting always take a second confirmation; nothing irreversible happens on one click.

AI in Worql helps assemble agreements, review contracts and suggest which records relate. The findings that need a decision come from fixed rules. None of it can create an agreement, an acceptance or a commercial decision.

Both decisions name the person, the role, the moment and the exact version or packet they apply to. Neither was made by Worql.

Handoff

Carry the consequence forward.

Finance gets the accepted amount with the approval and the history attached. Worql doesn’t send the invoice or touch the money. It makes sure what reaches finance has a decision behind it. Invoicing, revenue recognition and collection stay in your finance system.

Put together, this is a continuous commercial operating record for each client engagement: what was agreed, what changed, what happened, who decided, and what follows, across the systems you already use.

Start on your side. Bring the client in when the decision becomes shared.

You keep the project tracker, the engineering environment, the contract repository and the finance system. Worql sits between them. The first step is narrow: name one engagement, establish the agreement that governs it, and connect the sources that matter.

Your team can review what Worql surfaces and prepare a response internally. Your reasoning, thresholds and estimates stay on your side. When an action needs the other organization’s authority, an amendment or an acceptance, the client sees what’s relevant to that decision and acts under its own identity.

How much procedure each action gets.

A record that makes every action heavier gets ignored or worked around. Worql’s default mode, Adaptive, picks one of four levels for each action from what’s recorded about it: its value, its share of the contract, unapproved time, schedule impact, disputes and contract terms. Deterministic rules, not a model, and you can see why an action got the level it did. Contract amendments and disputes never go below Govern.

In the example, USD 4,800 is 11.29% of USD 42,500, above the default 5.00% threshold, so the change request is handled at Govern.

  1. ObserveWorql records and explains activity. Nothing needs a review just because it was observed; decisions still need the authority they always need.
  2. ReviewA person on your side confirms or dismisses what Worql found before it counts. Commercial decisions stay with the people who hold authority.
  3. Govern, the level in the exampleCommercial changes go through a change request decided by someone with decision authority, with evidence attached and finance review recorded.
  4. AssureA reviewer and a different approver, both explicitly named, decide; amendments are signed; every decision carries a verifiable record.
